Taylor Tapped as "Wild On" Host
That's because E! Entertainment Television has tapped 25-year-old model Cindy Taylor as the new host of its free-wheelin' travelogue show.
The selection of Taylor ends an extensive, six-month-long talent search undertaken by the network to find a replacement for Wild On incumbent Brooke Burke.
"I feel comfortable leaving Wild On knowing that Cindy will be taking over," says Burke. "She was my number one pick!"
Burke remains with E! as host of its countdown show, Rank. Taylor, named Burke's successor in Tuesday night's episode, has already been dispatched to Thailand to begin taping the first of six new Wild On episodes.
A native of Paraguay who has done the cover-girl thing for the likes of Shape magazine, Taylor was among nearly 10,000 applicants who vied for the Wild On gig.
The announcement was made at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, where Taylor was joined by the other top four finalists: Brittany Evans, Nikki Cortez, Rachel Reynolds and Vanessa Minnillo.
"Brooke Burke was great," Taylor told E! Online after her win. "She said if I ever needed anything, I could call. We're going to get together and have lunch and talk."
But for now Taylor won't have time for much--except travel. (When original host Jules Asner fronted the show, she did 30 countries in 24 months.)
Racking up frequent-flier miles should suit Taylor just fine. Born in Paraguay (her mother's from there), she moved to the States (her father's from here) when she was 19, settling in Miami.
At home in two worlds, Taylor, accordingly, speaks two languages: English and Spanish, not to mention "Spanglish with Guaraní" (Guaraní and Spanish are the official languages of Paraguay).
Taylor says her dream assignment is to do Wild On in her native land, as well as Egypt.
Given the far-flung ways of Wild On, she may just get her wish. The new episodes featuring Taylor are scheduled to begin airing in December.
