Taylor Momsen "Beautifully" Battling Throat Infection

Gossip Girl might want to take a softer tone when she blogs about Jenny's latest struggle.
E! News confirms that Taylor Momsen is battling a throat infection and has been hospitalized in Los Angeles since Sunday.
"With these kinds of infections the throat can swell and it can close up the throat to dangerous levels," Dr. Shawn Nasseri of Beverly Hills said. "But she is doing beautifully. She has pretty much made a full recovery.”
The 15-year-old actress—"an excellent patient," Nasseri called her—has been responding positively to antiobiotics and other medicines and should be feeling like her old young self again in three to five days.
Which is great news considering her doctor, in a statement obtained by E!, called the condition "severe" and "potentially life-threatening."
Us Weekly's website first reported Wednesday that Momsen was under a doctor's care after being referred to Nasseri, who is an ear, nose and throat specialist, after complaining of a sore throat.
"Her mom flew out to get her, and is flying back [to New York] with Taylor this week. She's in unbelievable spirits," a source told the magazine.
Added a rep for the CW: "Taylor Momsen is a beloved member of our Gossip Girl cast and we are happy to report she is on the road to a speedy recovery. We all look forward to her planned return to work on Friday."
