Taye Goes All the Way!
It looks like Taye Diggs is getting his wedding groove on.
The 32-year-old hunk, recently seen on the big screen working his pipes in the Golden Globe-winning musical Chicago, married longtime gal-pal Idina Menzel on January 11 at the Round Hill resort in Montego Bay in Jamaica.
And forget about being The Best Man, Diggs and his companion were the main attraction as they tied the knot "in a small ocean-side ceremony with friends and family," said his publicist, Marla Weinstein.
As any Diggs diggers can tell you, that's the same locale where Taye, in his breakout role as a burly, young islander, steamed up a shower with Angela Bassett (and showed off his buns) in 1998's How Stella Got Her Groove Back.
Diggs and Menzel, both native New Yorkers, shared billing in last year's little-seen Just a Kiss. But it was when the two performed as cast members in the original Broadway production of Rent that they first laid eyes on each other.
Since then, Diggs has been busy forging a leading-man reputation in such films as 1999's hit drama The Best Man, 2000's The Way of the Gun and 2002's Brown Sugar. His other credits include Equilibrium, The Wood and House on Haunted Hill, as well as a stint on Fox's Ally McBeal.
Menzel, 31, appeared in last year's indie comedy Kissing Jessica Stein and lent her voice to Disney's syndicated television series Hercules. Like her husband, she can also sing, having earned a Tony nomination for her role as Maureen in Rent and releasing her own album, 1998's Still I Can't Be Still.
