Tammy and Melissa Etheridge Call It Quits

We're beginning to think there must be something in the water this week with all these breakups. Next up: Melissa Etheridge and wife Tammy have decided to go their separate ways after nearly nine years together.
The 48-year-old singer and 35-year-old L Word actress (née Tammy Lynn Michaels) exchanged vows in 2003 in Malibu. Together, they faced Melissa's 2004 breast cancer diagnosis and the birth/adoption of their two children, daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller, that followed a few years later. (Melissa also has two children from a previous relationship.)
"Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated," the "Come to My Window" crooner's rep tells E! News.
"We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period," the ex-couple said in a joint statement.
