Suri Spied Again
Penélope Cruz has been granted entry into one of the most exclusive clubs in town. Even Nicole Kidman isn't a member yet.
At the London premiere of her new film, Volver, the Spanish actress told the Associated Press that she has visited the elusive Suri Cruise, joining the privileged few who have seen the three-month-old.
Cruz, who dated Tom Cruise for three years after he and Kidman split up, agreed with previous Suri-seers Jada Pinkett Smith and Leah Remini when she described Cruise and Katie Holmes' bundle of joy as "really beautiful."
"She's one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen," the Sahara star said.
Suri is starting to sound like a real peach. Pinkett Smith, who, along with husband Will Smith, has traded baby talk with the child on two separate occasions, telling People Suri is "one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life. She's an absolute beauty and she's Daddy's little girl."
That, coupled with Remini's pronouncement that Suri is "just beautiful" and that Cruise and Holmes are "just great parents," makes for a pretty Rockwellian picture. Except for the fact that everybody knows what a Norman Rockwell painting looks like.
Since greeting the world on Apr. 18, Suri has yet to make a public photographic appearance, unlike fellow celebaby Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Suri's pictorial debut is expected to fetch between $2 million and $5 million.
Remini and Pinkett Smith both had an audience with Suri at Cruise and Holmes' Beverly Hills mansion, but rumors that Cruise brought his little girl to Steven Spielberg's office so that the famed director could get a look at her and that a couple of Spielberg's colleagues saw her in Telluride, Colorado, also surfaced in July.
Pinkett Smith told People last month that the lack of Suri sightings is really no big deal.
"She's beautiful and they're very happy and they need to be left alone."
When not discussing Suri Cruise this week, Cruz dished about partying in Saint-Tropez on Sean "Diddy" Combs' yacht along with Paris Hilton (or was it her look-alike?) and Sarah Ferguson. The petite actress is on holiday for now, having just wrapped shooting on Manolete with Adrien Brody.
Next up Cruz is on the run with Salma Hayek in the Spanish-language Bandidas, in which the two lovelies play bank robbers.
