Super Bowl Weekend: Winning, Kissing and Waiting

RSVPs:  TomKat, J.Lo, Scarlett Johansson...
Where:  Super Bowl Weekend, Miami, Florida
When:  Feb. 3

Scattered clouds have cooled the humid Miami air, but things are hotter than ever on the celeb scene. I start my day at the Sprint Style Villa, where Joey Fatone is already getting the party started with an ice-cold beer. After trying on some Ed Hardy gear, the former boy bander steps onto the beach, just a few feet away from Scarlett Johansson, who is covering herself with a black hoodie. No, she's not trying to shade her face from the pockets of sun. The voluptuous maiden hates being photographed.

"She's so mad," I overhear a man by the bar say. "She thought she wouldn't have to deal with paparazzi this weekend." Silly girl. It's the biggest sports event of the year, what did she think would happen? Since Scarlett's supposedly coming out with her own shoe line shortly, she bypasses the sandal vendor inside the suite and tries her luck at winning a one-year lease on a $2.2 million Bayfront condo at Flamingo South Beach. She pulls the lucky key and wins! She's already staying at the 6,000-square-foot triplex suite on top of the Shore Club, and now this? So not fair.

The clouds are dispersing, so I walk down the beach to catch some sun at the PlayStation Oasis at the Raleigh Hotel. After grabbing a burger in the cabanas, I take the elevator up to the penthouse, where Terrence Howard is gabbing on the phone. "You gotta come here, man," he tells his upcoming Iron Man costar Robert Downey Jr. "It's so cool!" And he's not talking about the air conditioning. He's referring to PlayStation 3's customization booth, where A-listers can laser anything they desire onto their free computer entertainment system. There are samples with dragons and intricate star patterns, but Terrence opts for some lettering that will make his son happy: Daddy & Hunter. So cute.

Also checking out the games is HeroesMilo Ventimiglia. "I haven't had a vacation in two years," he tells me. "So, I just came to lay out and hang by the beach with friends." Unfortunately, Milo's playtime has to be cut short. "I have to fly back tomorrow for work, so I can't even make it to the game," he says. "But there are some really rad episodes coming up!" Guess I'll have to wait to see him again on the small screen.

After a quick shower, I head back to 8th and Ocean for Market America and Ocean Drive's Super Bowl XLI Party. Tonight is supposed to be the event of the weekend, because both Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez are performing. There's already a sea of ticketless fans lined up across the grass trying to score a view of the stage on the beach.

I bump into Johansson again, who has ditched the hoodie, now preferring to hide behind her hair. "There are so many people here," she whines, while refusing to do red carpet. She won't even hang in the VIP section with Tara Reid, Stacy Keibler and Hulk Hogan. Instead, Scarlett insists on chilling backstage before the show. If I got paid the big bucks to make an appearance, I'd at least take a picture or two. Especially if I'd just won a year at a free luxury condo!

Enjoying the limelight are Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. After Fergie sings her two-song set on the Pontiac Garage Stage, TomKat emerges from the left wing, dancing to Marc Anthony's beats. When their pal starts singing "Hotel California," the couple begins kissing and the crowd gets snap-happy. "My legs are shaking," a gay man next to me shrieks. "I think Tom Cruise just looked at me!" Keep dreaming, sweetie.

When J.Lo emerges, the flashes are so intense I barely get a glimpse of her off-the-shoulder frock. It has been a while since I've seen her onstage, but something's telling me I'd better get over to Mokai for CAA Sports Super Bowl XLI Party before the concert ends.

My inkling is right. I step up to the club only to learn Gloria Estefan has been asked to wait. Guess the fire marshal doesn't care if you're a Miami legend. It's starting to drizzle, but I'm forced to wait with about 50 other people on the list.  Finally, someone sneaks me through and I realize why the bouncer insisted Mokai was full to capacity.

I can barely walk past the beautiful models, agents in suits and very large football players. No wonder Scarlett snuck out of the concert early, too. Nobody can find her here. Alec Baldwin goofily dances with his brother Stephen, while Billy Bob Thornton remains low-key at a booth. But the biggest dancer tonight? Tom Cruise.

TomKat must have taken a different route than I took, because they're already perched at a table next to the deejay booth for all clubgoers to see. I'm in shock when they start dancing, letting fans take pictures mere feet away. Even stranger is that Tom's son, Connor, is at the party. It's one in the morning, and he's not even a teenager yet!

Tom really goes wild when DJ Vice starts playing Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone." He flashes his signature grin, busts out some Top Gun dance moves and points his finger into the air. Meanwhile, Katie chats with her CAA folks in her turtleneck and leather jacket. Where is Rachel Zoe when you need her? It looks like Katie packed for Minneapolis, not Miami.

After his dad finishes couch dancing, Connor steps up to view the crowd. Someone tells me Tom asked his son to stand for a photo op, and judging by the kid's timid gaze, I believe it. My guess is Nicole Kidman would not approve.

My phone buzzes, so I look down and check the text message from my friend at the Penthouse Party at Mansion. "Omigod, Paris is drinking out of a leather flask and chasing it with Gatorade," she writes. "And Snoop is performing with, like, 30 half-naked girls. Oh, and K-Fed just got onstage. Oh, and Nicky Hilton looks so weird in her white eyelet tea party dress. XO."

Love it. I want to stop by, but now Tom is kissing Katie on the cheek and she's turning her head away giggling. This is something Hollywood Party Girl never gets to see!

By 2 a.m., Tom and Katie play good parents and take Connor back to the Mandarin Oriental presidential suite. While Matt Leinart asks a girl for her digits and Kid Rock smokes his cigars, I spend the rest of the night musing about the TomKat spectacle. Forget the game (I know the Bears would like to), this was my own personal Super Bowl highlight reel. For more Miami scoop, check out my podcast, up today and every Thursday. And stop by next week to hear about Beyoncé's post-Grammy performance! Till then, learn who Hollywood Party Girl thinks is going to take home Grammy gold in E! Online's predictions.
