Star Jones' All-Star Engagement

The shining star of Sunday's NBA All-Star Game wasn't a b-baller at all.

It was The View's Star Jones.

The shoe-loving, legal eagle host of the daily talk show received a proposal and a five-carat rock during the game from her banker boyfriend of four months, Al Reynolds.

During the fourth quarter of the game, in which the West triumphed over the East 136-132, Reynolds whipped out the monster ring and asked Jones to be his bride--in view of the 20,000 spectators at Los Angeles' Staples Center via the arena's Jumbotron, as well as millions of TV viewers watching the TNT broadcast.

Jones knew the proposal was coming, since Reynolds had asked her parents for permission, she told her View colleagues on Monday's show, but she just didn't know when or where he would pop the question.

"With every passing day it didn't happen...and I was getting annoyed, you know me, I was trying to control it," Jones dished to Barbara Walters and crew. "Then at the top of the fourth quarter I saw him bring his coat over, and I knew."

Reynolds, a Wall Street-type, also visited the show Tuesday to rehash the whole thing and get the approval of Jones' TV pals.

Jones is a lawyer and former prosecutor who made her TV debut in 1991 as a commentator for Court TV on the William Kennedy Smith rape case. She was also a legal analyst for Inside Edition during the whole O.J. Simpson debacle.

She has been part of the Emmy winning, televised, all-girls coffee klatch since its inception in 1997. She is joined on The View by Joy Behar, Meredith Vieria, Walters and, most recently, former Survivor Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Jones is also the spokeswoman for Payless Shoes and a known shoe fanatic.

A date has not yet been set for the wedding.
