O.J. Simpson's homeless and hounded by the IRS? "That would be terrific," said Fred Goldman. "That would be terrific."

Simpson delighted Goldman Friday by admitting he owed the Internal Revenue Service $700,000 in back taxes and could face tax-evasion charges. Speaking briefly with reporters before a court hearing, Simpson added that, although the IRS was auditing his tax returns, he believed he would settle his debt with the insidious agency.

"We've been working with the [IRS] since I've been arrested," Simpson said. "I don't think I broke the law in any way."

Simpson also discussed upcoming moving plans. His infamous Brentwood home--once as popular a tourist destination as the Hollywood sign--along with other possessions (Kato not included), is going on the auction block July 14 with a minimum bid of $2.5 million to help pay off creditors.

He said today that he was looking for a new house in Los Angeles--for his children's sake, he claims--but would probably rent because he could not afford to purchase new digs. "I can't buy," Simpson lamented. "It'll be tough to buy." Simpson has claimed to be flat broke.

In addition to the bevy of lawyers, agents and handlers he owes, Simpson must pay the Goldmans and his ex-wife's family $33.5 million in damages. That penalty was handed down in January by a civil jury that found Simpson responsible for the wrongful deaths of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murders by a criminal jury in 1995.

Today, O.J. was in court to answer questions about his worth. The families of the victims need to determine the value of Simpson's assets so they can collect on the award.
