Shiloh Does the States
Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt has left the land where she was born.
After a two-month stay at a luxury beach resort while awaiting Shiloh's arrival, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the Jolie-Pitt brood have departed Namibia, Pitt's publicist, Cindy Guagenti, confirmed to E! News.
Samuel Nuuyoma, the governor of the Namibian region of Erongo and de facto Jolie-Pitt spokesman during their African adventure, told reporters the family had moved on, but, like Guagenti, neglected to say when or where they were going.
However, according to TMZ.com, the family returned to Los Angeles on Saturday and were escorted by police to Pitt's Malibu home, where security guards and guard dogs were on the lookout as movers carried furniture, including a crib, inside.
Pitt and Jolie had hinted they would soon leave Namibia during a press conference they held last week, at which they thanked their host country for helping to protect their privacy.
"We have been able to have a very special, peaceful time for our family here, exploring your country and, more importantly, helping with the delivery of our daughter Shiloh," Pitt said. "So, for that we are eternally grateful."
The Mr. and Mrs. Smith costars also showed their appreciation by donating $300,000 to improve the maternity wards at two Namibian public hospitals and $15,000 toward a school and community center in Swakopmund.
"We want to contribute to Namibia and the people who have been so gracious to us at this time," Pitt and Jolie said in a statement last month.
In a further display of altruism, not to mention an ingenious scheme to keep the paparazzi from cashing in on their offspring, the couple announced their plan to sell Shiloh's first baby pictures to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going to charity.
After offering upwards of $4 million, People and Hello! magazines landed the rights to the pictures, which were rapidly leaked onto the Internet before either publication had an issue on the newsstands. Various blogs have been threatened with legal action as a result.
Now that the family is back on American soil, Pitt is scheduled to report for work next month when production begins on Ocean's Thirteen.
Jolie will next be seen on the big screen opposite Matt Damon and Robert De Niro in The Good Shepherd, slated for a Dec. 22 release. She'll also voice the Queen of the Darkness in the upcoming adaptation of Beowulf.
