Shatner Settles Semen Spat

Captain Kirk has boldly gone where no man has gone before--except when it comes to horse semen.

The good captain's alter ego William Shatner has made nice with his ex-wife by, yes, getting his horse semen in order.

Lawyers for Marcy Lafferty Shatner, the Star Trek star's wife number two, announced that the exes had settled the legal battle over the aforementioned equine genetic matter, but terms of the deal were not disclosed. The lawsuit was officially dismissed in June.

The former missus sued Shatner in April, asserting he failed to make good on a divorce settlement stipulation that he beam down "fresh cooled format" semen of his prize stallions, including the horses Great Day's Came the Sun and Sultan's Great Day, by instead sending her frozen semen.

No word on why Shatner stopped the "fresh cooled" shipments last March. He had been providing Marcy Shatner her preferred semen in every horse-breeding season since their 1995 split.

The "fresh cooled" variety is the semen of choice for horse breeders, according to the suit.

Shatner, 72, has been a horse enthusiast for years, maintaining horse farms in Kentucky since the mid-1980s, and hosting an annual celebrity polo match for charity in Burbank, California. He's currently wed to wife number four, the former Elizabeth J. Martin.

No comment yet from the ex-Trekker's camp.
