Sen.-elect Scott Brown to Simon Cowell: Put My Daughter Back on Idol!

Forget health care. Scott Brown's first task as a newly elected senator: get his daughter back on American Idol.

After his stunning victory in Massachusetts earlier this month, the media-savvy politico sat down with Barbara Walters on ABC's This Week and said he'd like Simon Cowell and his Idol cronies to give Ayla Brown another shot.

Ayla, a 21-year-old Boston College student, was eliminated after she made it to the Top 16 in 2006 (the season Taylor Hicks won).

But despite his newfound power, Brown faces an uphill battle. After all, Cowell was hardly a fan, characterizing Ayla's song-and-dance routine as "robotic." Ouch.

Sill, Sen.-elect Brown is making his case.

"I'd love to have him have her on the show again, because she's grown as well," Brown said. "I think it would be great for her and great for the show and let people know that there's life after Idol."

Despite her Idol diss, Ayla hasn't given up. In fact, she has released three albums—including the most recent, Circles, which came out this past week.
