Seinfeld Not Revisiting Seinfeld

Another show about nothing? Nothing doing.

Jerry Seinfeld and NBC have denied a report in the New York Post claiming the comic is in talks to star as himself in a sitcom similar in style to HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, which features Seinfeld cocreator Larry David.

"There's nothing to it," NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks told the Associated Press.

Seinfeld's spokeswoman, Elizabeth Clark Zoia, also said the report was false.

"We appreciate the enthusiasm, however," she said.

The Post, which cited unnamed sources, claimed the so-called show was aiming to premiere in June.

Seinfeld starred in Seinfeld from 1989 to 1998. After the show went off the air, he returned to doing stand-up comedy, as well as the occasional American Express spot.

More recently, the comedian voiced the character of Barry B. Benson in the animated film Bee Movie, which he also cowrote and coproduced.

He and his wife, Jessica, are currently the targets of a lawsuit filed by cookbook author Missy Chase Lapine, who claims she was defamed by the comedian and plagiarized by his missus.

Lawyers for the Seinfelds have dismissed Lapine's claims as lacking merit.
