And Scott MacIntyre Thinks He Had Tough Competition…
Michael Becker / Fox
Scott MacIntyre was out. Lost was, well, Lost. Criminal Minds was back. DVRs were presumably working overtime.
Last night's tough three-way race at 9 p.m. didn't do favors for any of the participants in the early Nielsen numbers. The MacIntyre-ousting Idol (estimated 22.4 million viewers) was down about 2 million from last week. Lost (8.3 million) was down 15 percent among adults 18-49. Criminal Minds (13.3 million) was off a bit from its season average.
Other Wednesday ratings stats:
• For as much as the 9 p.m. shows bloodied each other, they reigned overall. Idol was the night's top show. Lost was the highest-rated scripted show in the demo. Criminal Minds was the most-watched scripted show.
• Life (4.5 million) aired at 9 p.m., too. Which was unfortunate for Life.
• Lie to Me (8.4 million) aired at 8 p.m. Which was fortunate for Lie to Me. Opposite the likes of Better Off Ted (4.2 million), its so-so numbers ruled the time slot.
• America's Next Top Model (3.7 million) ruled young women at 8 p.m.
• At 10 p.m., the all-new The Unusuals (6.8 million) was no match for an all-new CSI: NY (12.5 million).
