Scott Foley Scrubs In
It could be just what the doctor ordered.
Single and unemployed, Scott Foley is getting a booster shot from NBC's Scrubs.
The actor has been tapped to reprise his first-season role as Elliot's (Sarah Chalke) neurotic boyfriend Sean for six episodes in the upcoming season, NBC announced Friday.
The producers of the hospital laffer wanted to bring the Felicity alum on full time, according to TV Guide, but he'd already committed to starring in Tony winner Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour, opposite Robert Sean Leonard and Jasmine Guy. The play bows on Broadway October 16 .
It's about time fortune smiled on this unlucky guy. His follow-up to Felicity, NBC's woeful comedy A.U.S.A., was officially nixed by the network in May, the same day his former missus, Jennifer Garner, filed for divorce.
Foley and Garner wed in October 2000 when he was a WB hunk in good standing and she was a bit player in a string of failed series, including the 1999-2000 Party of Five spinoff, Time of Your Life, and films like Dude, Where's My Car?
But by the time of their breakup she was the sexy star of ABC's Alias with a roster of upcoming projects including a Daredevil spinoff, Revolution Studios' romantic comedy 13 Going on 30 and the indie ensemble comedy Happy Endings while Foley's datebook remained relatively empty. He will, however, star in a Wes Craven-Kevin Williamson werewolf flick called, yes, Cursed.
