Sarandon, Scorsese Get Star Power

From Weezie to Chrissy and Beau to Bobby, the latest list of Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees is...well, star-studded.

Director Martin Scorsese, Susan Sarandon, Robert Duvall, Beau Bridges, Kermit the Frog, former Jeffersons star Isabel Sanford and former Three's Company ditzy blonde Suzanne Somers are among the celebs on the 2003 list of Hollywood Walk of Fame recipients, announced Friday by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

In all, 22 names made the list, including posthumous honors for late Saturday Night Live great Gilda Radner and legendary Broadway composer Richard Rodgers.

The list is just the latest batch in Hollywood's annual star handout game, in which celebrities pay for the honor of having their name placed on Hollywood Boulevard--a honor handed to more than 2,100 celebs since 1958.

About 200 nominations are submitted every year, and honorees must pay (or have someone else pay) a $15,000 fee to be eligible for the much-sought-after pink terrazzo and bronze-engraved stars.

"The nomination has to be approved by the committee, which consists of five people," Johnny Grant, chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee and honorary mayor of Hollywood, explained to E! Online in 1998. "We do about 18 a year and select a certain number of nominees from each category," which includes TV, film, recording, radio and live performance.

Herewith, a complete list of the class of 2003:

Movies: Kevin Bacon, Robert Duvall, Susan Sarandon, Martin Scorsese
Television: Beau Bridges, Drew Carey, Kermit the Frog, KTLA-TV's Larry McCormick, The Osmond Family, Isabel Sanford, Suzanne Somers
Recording: Michael Bolton, Etta James, Carole King, Israel Lopez "Cachao," Earl Scruggs
Live Theater/Live Performance: Betty Garrett, Doris Roberts, Carmen Zapata
Radio: Gil Stratton
Posthumous: Gilda Radner, Richard Rodgers
