Same role, different Parker.

Just hours after Mary-Louise Parker's name was floated as a possible replacement for Demi Moore in the upcoming Lovelace, the studio has confirmed that Sarah Jessica Parker will play feminist icon Glorida Steinem.

Moore pulled out of the project this week after a scary medical emergency landed her in the hospital, where the official word was that she needed treatment for exhaustion and her overall health.

The Ghost star has since left the hospital, but her entire schedule—let alone a movie role she was supposed to start shooting ASAP—is now up in the air.

Which brings us to Parker as a somewhat surprising choice to play Steinem, who joined forces with Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace on behalf of the feminist anti-pornography movement in the early 1980s.

Parker, who's been comfortably ensconced in much fluffier fare for the last decade, is due to start shooting on Monday in New York City.

Amanda Seyfried is playing Lovelace in the long-gestating biopic, while James Franco will embody a young Hugh Hefner. Sharon Stone, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Peter Sarsgaard and Chris Noth (hey, reunion!) also star.
