Sandler: Real-Life Big Daddy

It's enough to make Happy Gilmore ecstatic.

Adam Sandler and wife Jackie welcomed their first child together in Los Angeles Saturday, according to a post on his Website.

"Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!!" the SNL vet trumpeted. As for papa, "He's still a moron, and that's all that counts!!!"

People reports the funnyman became big daddy to a baby girl, though the newborn's name and vital statistics haven't been released.

The littlest Sandler was reportedly born at L.A.'s celeb-friendly Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

News of the impending stork delivery broke last December, after the couple of seven years attended their annual holiday bash and a friend let slip that the expecting missus "looked radiant" in her condition.

Sandler, 39, and his actress-model wife, 31, tied the knot in June 2003, in a star-studded Jewish ceremony held at Dick Clark's Malibu estate. The bash was attended by more than a few of the duo's close friends, as nearly 400 revelers, including Jennifer Aniston, Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman and Rob Schneider, were present for the vow swap.

The ceremony also famously featured a four-legged groomsman, as Sandler's late bulldog Meatball, dressed in his finest tuxedo and yarmulke, served as ring bearer.

For now, the new papa will likely turn his attentions to diaper duty, though his stint may not last long.

According to IMDb.com, Sandler is currently dividing his time between L.A. and New York to film the drama Empty City. The actor breaks from his usual silly persona in the serious flick, which centers on a man who lost his family in the 9-11 attack and rekindles a friendship with a college roommate, played by Don Cheadle, to survive his grief.

Sandler will next be seen on the big screen next month alongside Kate Beckinsale and Christopher Walken in considerably lighter fare. Click is a comedy centering on a guy who finds a magical remote control that allows him to fast-forward or rewind to different times in his life.

It opens June 23.
