Sammy Hagar: Aliens "Either Downloaded or Uploaded" His Brain

Rocker claims he has had numerous experiences with UFOs

Hey, Sammy, did they also phone home, have a light-up finger and love Reese's Pieces?

Ex-Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar is spinning some far-out tales of alien abduction while promoting his new book, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, saying not only was he once captured by ETs, but they also downloaded information from his (admittedly drug- and alcohol-fueled) brain.

The singer, who admits to sounding like "a crazy person," says he believes the little critters got a hold of him in the foothills above Fontana, Calif., where they "wanted to see what this guy knows."

But wait. It gets better. Go on, Sammy...

The 63-year-old rocker, who has a deep interest in mysticism, psychics and numerology, says he's had some crazy visions of UFOs and says that we humans aren't alone.

"I feel so scared and lonely to think we're the only ones, when I know there's something out there and someday they'll come. People say there's no other life in the universe. But you know how big the universe is? It's freakin' huge! If we're really the only ones out there, that's scarier to me than thinking there are aliens," Hagar tells MTV Hive.

Hagar regaled Howard Stern last week with similar stories while acknowledging his opinions are "way out there" but that he honestly believes he's been abducted by extraterrestrials.

"I think I have," he says, claiming in the book that he saw a spaceship with two creatures inside who connected to him through some kind of mysterious WiFi connection.

"That's right, it was real,"  he says. "Aliens were plugged into me. It was a download situation. This was long before computers or any kind of wireless. There weren't even wireless telephones. Looking back now, it was like, 'F--k they downloaded something into me!' Or they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment, 'See what this guy knows.' "

Just in case you think he's kidding, Hagar insists, "that happened."

"That friggin' happened, I'll tell you right now," he said.

Then there's the story he left out of the book. The time he saw what looked like a car with no wheels hovering in the sky above his head. (Yeah, we loved that scene in Back to the Future, too—oh wait, he says it wasn't a movie...)

"We lived out in the country and I saw this thing floating across a field, creating this big dust storm. I threw rocks at it and s--t. And I don't know what happened after that," he says, adding that he has no memory of it but insists it was not a dream because it was "during daylight."

Hagar says that back a few decades ago, when his little friends first reached out to him, he didn't know how to explain it because he "didn't understand the technology." But now he's pretty sure it was a "wireless situation."

"Eitehr a download or an upload. They were tapped into my brain and the knowledge was transferred back and forth. I could see them and everything while it was happening," he explains. "There was a visual involved, almost like...I don't know, don't get me going!"

Too late now, Sammy. Too late now. Sounds like you're already gone.
