Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter Separated
With his 54th birthday Sunday, late September isn't too far off for classic Brit rocker Rod Stewart, but it's not the lyrical Maggie May he's on the rocks with this time. And it's not a song. It's his real-life model wife of eight years, Rachel Hunter.
In a joint release filed by the raspy rocker's publicist Thursday, the couple revealed their separation. However, "there are no immediate plans for the couple's divorce," the statement adds.
Stewart has an extensive history of relationships with hot-legged babes.
In the '70s, Mr. Vagabond Heart was heavily involved in a high-profile romance with Swedish sex-kitten Britt Ekland. Later came an early-'80s marriage to George Hamilton's ex, Alana. After divorcing her, Rod had a long fling with model Kelly Emberg.
Stewart and Hunter have two kids between them, 4-year-old Liam and 6-year-old Renee.
Coincidentally, the Rod-Rachel split comes at the same time fellow womanizing Brit-rock legend Mick Jagger is widely reported to be on the outs with his model mate, Jerry Hall.
