Report: Vivica Called CHP Officer "Racist White Cop"
Whether she had been drinking or not, Vivica A. Fox was supposedly blowing plenty of hot air the night she was pulled over for speeding.
According to the California Highway Patrol's official report, released Friday, the actress called a patrolman a "racist white cop" as she was being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Mar. 20 after she was clocked going 80 miles per hour and weaving in and out of her lane on a Los Angeles freeway.
After exhibiting "signs of alcohol intoxication," per the original arrest report obtained by E! Online, the CHP administered field sobriety tests, which the 42-year-old Independence Day star failed.
"Fox began to walk away, yelling at my partner, 'Brother, help a sister, are you going to let this racist white cop do this…Well, are you?" read the latest report, which identifies the arresting officer as Officer Laubscher and his partner as Officer De Alba.
Fox, who according to the paperwork continued to speak to the officers in a "condescending manner," was booked at the L.A. Police Department's Van Nuys Jail, where a Breathalyzer test registered her blood-alcohol level as higher than the legal limit of 0.08 percent. She was released shortly afterward on her own recognizance.
Three days later, the L.A. City Attorney's Office charged her with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. Arraignment has been set for July 19.
Fox, lately of the Lifetime series Missing, is facing a maximum six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted on all charges. Following her arrest, she said that she'll "hire a driver next time."
"It was an unfortunate judgment that I am taking full responsibility in," the season-three Dancing with the Stars contestant told reporters backstage at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
As for the unflattering portrait of her arrest, a CHP spokeswoman said that "the report stands on its own," but that the office cannot comment further on a case still pending in court.
