Rate-a-Trailer: Has Will Ferrell Totally Lost It?
This should be a no-brainer.
Land of the Lost wasn't exactly great television, but it was unforgettable. The 1970s Sid & Marty Krofft series about a father and his two kids plunged though a portal thingy into a strange new world had a low-budget charm, not to mention an undeniable theme song, bug-eyed Sleestaks and a hirsute primitive boy named Cha-Ka.
Add in Will Ferrell and this should be pure hilarity, right? Maybe. The trailer looks like it replaced the series' strengths with amped-up summer movie cliché: high-concept gobbledygook, marauding CG monsters and a sack full of boob, crotch and Matt Lauer jokes.
So is your idea of a summery good time Ferrell, Danny McBride and Anna Friel in a bleak wasteland, or will this be an autumn rental? You tell us.
