Randy Quaid: Canada Saved My Life, Eh!

Randy Quaid's all ready to hang with the hosers.

The Vacation star attempted to make his case for refuge Tuesday to Canadian officials, saying that he's thankful to the country for literally saving his and wife Evi's lives from those dreaded "Hollywood star whackers."

So how did things turn out?

MORE: Seriously, WTF is wrong with the Quaids?

Quaid expressed his gratitude to officials upon arriving at the hearing with Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board in Vancouver, where the paranoid pair are currently seeking asylum.

The Quaids fled there after being hit with felony vandalism charges in California for squatting in a former home. (They are now considers fugitives in the state.)

The clean-shaven, grey-suited Randy seemed ready for business, but his proceeding did not go ahead as planned (shocker!) after his lawyer, Catherine Sas, requested and received another continuance to allow her more time to review their "voluminous" case file

A spokeswoman for the Immigration and Refugee Board told E! News that a new refugee hearing has not been set; however a pre-hearing conference was scheduled for Dec. 22.

Meanwhile, an official at the Canada Border Services agency said that Randy's passport remains confiscated by Canadian authorities, a standard government protocol that Quaid cited when he failed to return to California for arraignment in the vandalism case.

The Quaids have insisted that they are being targeted for murder by a shadowy ring that has allegedly dispatched the likes of Heath Ledger and David Carradine and also tried to kill Dennis Quaids' twins.

Canada, they're all yours.
