Rachel Hunter's Change of Heart
Three days after filing for divorce from Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter has wheeled her hot legs back into court and withdrew her petition.
On June 19, Los Angeles Superior Court officials granted the blonde's dismissal request, according to documents obtained by the Smoking Gun Website, nixing the divorce petition she'd filed June 16.
Things that make you go huh?
The divorce proceedings came as no surprise. The May-December couple had split four years earlier and were each publicly canoodling with different people. Hunter briefly took up with Brit pop rocker Robbie Williams while Stewart had started dating photographer Penny Lancaster.
In fact, Stewart mentioned Lancaster in a May interview as a possible motive for the divorce. "I have decided to get a divorce," Stewart told Britain's Sun. "It's time to close that chapter of my life, and I owe it to Penny."
In the complaint, Hunter cited the old standard "irreconcilable differences" to end her 13-year-marriage to the veteran rocker but still sought to share custody of their 11-year-old daughter Renee and eight-year-old son Liam.
Now, a single-page court document dismisses "without prejudice" Hunter's petition for divorce, which means she can still file for divorce at a later date should she change her mind, again.
Calls to reps for both Stewart and Hunter were not immediately returned Wednesday.
Sources have speculated that the about-face was due to Hunter's dissatisfaction with the division of the couple's assets, while others have suggested that the estranged couple were looking to avoid expensive legal proceedings.
