Puffy: Another Moving Violation?

Bienvenido a Miami, P.Diddy.

In what marks the rap impresario's second run-in with Miami cops in just three months, Sean "Puffy" Combs is wanted for questioning in Florida after a reckless driving incident involving a joint, a Ferrari--and the hip-hopster allegedly peeling out "like a bat out of hell."

Police say Combs, 31, sped off in a silver 2001 Ferrari that was parked outside Miami's Club Space in the early morning hours of June 9. Sgt. Gene Kowalski, who was working off-duty at the club, told the Miami Herald that he asked Puffy to move the car because it was blocking traffic.

"One of his security guys says to me, 'Well, he's Puffy Daddy.' And I said, 'He's still got to move the car.' It messes up traffic all the way to Biscayne Boulevard."

Combs then took off, police said, almost hitting a pedestrian and zooming through a red light before pulling up to the Goldrush strip club. There, Combs allegedly ran inside with the vehicle running, made a break out the back door and evaded police.

The state attorney's office is investigating the incident, and if they decide to arrest Combs, he'd probably only face misdemeanor charges. Police, however, did arrest Puffy's passenger--28-year-old Jovar Andrews, who's reportedly the cousin of rocker Lenny Kravitz. Andrews was cited for marijuana possession after police allegedly found a joint in the car's ashtray. Andrews' lawyer insists it wasn't his client's weed.

Police also towed the Ferrari, which was owned by producer Dallas Austin, the Herald reports. Combs' publicist said Tuesday the police report was inaccurate, and she wouldn't comment further.

This isn't the first time Puffy's road behavior has raised the eyebrows of Miami's finest. In April, Combs was pulled over after he made an illegal lane change on a rented scooter along South Beach's scenic Ocean Drive. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, detained for 20 minutes, and then released on his own recognizance. The charges were later dropped when Combs proved his New York license had been renewed.

The scooter bust happened just a month after he was acquitted on gun and bribery charges stemming from a 1999 Manhattan nightclub shooting.

Nowadays, Combs has regrouped somewhat, and he's showing up both in record stores--with his new album, P. Diddy & the Bad Boy Family...The Saga Continues--and in movie theaters, with a costarring role in the Jon Favreau-Vince Vaughn flick, Made. In it, Combs plays a New York crime boss who hires the Swingers buddies for a money-laundering scheme.

As for P. Diddy & the Bad Boy Family, we're not sure which took more time to craft--the music on the new disc, or the gushing press biography that came with the album. According to the bio, "It is a rare and significant occasion when a musical artist captures and expresses the sentiments of a generation and expands his horizons to make an impact on society, creating a union between music and life. Sean 'P.Diddy' Combs is undoubtedly among this very select, very small group."

Our sentiments exactly.
