Prince Harry Meets With Seriously Ill, Seriously Inspiring Children at Charity Event

After letting loose (and getting soaked) in Croatia, Prince Harry put his partying alter ego aside to resume his more serious duties as a royal.

More specifically, the handsome prince attended the WellChild Awards Ceremony in London's Park Lane on Wednesday.

The charity event was held to recognize the courage of young children who are seriously ill, according to the Daily Mail. Prince Harry was there to present awards to two children nominated as the bravest in Britain between the ages of three and six years old.

The 26-year-old is no stranger to bravery himself. The prince has served with British troops in Afghanistan, and he is currently training to become an Apache attack helicopter pilot.

Still, the children represented here show some incredible spirit in the face of adversity.

Six-year-old Harley Lane contracted meningitis two years ago, which developed into deadly meningococcal septicaemia within hours. The boy's heart stopped three times and doctors determined that, in hopes of saving his life, the best course would be to amputate his arms and legs.

While Prince Harry connected with Harley on the topic of his prosthetic limbs—the prince recently took part in a journey to the North Pole with wounded servicemen—and the two also managed to joke around about which soccer team is best.
