Posh & Becks: Baby on Board
David and Victoria Beckham really, really want a big family.
Great Britain's golden couple announced Sunday that they are expecting baby number three in early March. The glam pair already have two sons, Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, who will be two next month.
"This is fantastic news," the Beckhams said in a statement. "We are both absolutely delighted. We are planning to have the baby in Spain."
The A-list (at least in the U.K.) duo met in 1997 and married in an appropriately fabulous ceremony in 1999.
They have been spending the bulk of their time in Spain of late, after David Beckham, the world's highest paid soccer player, left British team Manchester United last year to play for Spanish team Real Madrid.
Victoria Beckham, perhaps better known as the former Posh Spice, initially remained behind in England with her kids, while she struggled to launch a solo pop career. Thus far, she has not enjoyed the success she cultivated as a Spice Girl and has instead decided to join her husband in Spain full time, according to the British press.
The Beckhams faced scandal earlier this year when allegations surfaced that David had carried on a fling with his former assistant Rebecca Loos between September and October of last year.
Loos, 26, was reportedly paid six figures to dish her story to the News of the World. At present, she's apparently looking to extend her 15 minutes of infamy by appearing in an upcoming British reality show titled The Farm, in which pseudo-celebs milk cows and engage in other agricultural labor. (We smell desperation.)
Another alleged Beckham bedmate, model Sarah Marbeck, also claimed she had slept with the soccer star twice and exchanged tawdry text messages with him between July 2001 and March 2002.
Becks denounced the stories, calling them "ludicrous" and "absurd," and pledging his allegiance to his wife. The couple eventually called in a legal team to help quell the rumor mill and fled to the French Alps for a paparazzi-friendly getaway, ensuring plenty of flattering photos and press about the ongoing strength of their marriage.
