Police Looking for Tyrese
The star of 2 Fast 2 Furious may have gotten a little too violent with his pregnant girlfriend.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Tyrese Gibson is at the center of an ongoing criminal investigation for alleged domestic violence stemming from a dispute at his Hancock Park home early Thursday.
According to the LAPD, Gibson's live-in three-months-pregnant girlfriend, whose identity was not disclosed, alleges that the actor-singer hit her twice in the leg and the arm after a verbal bustup at 5:30 a.m. Tyrese then apparently left the house and hasn't been seen since.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where police say she was treated and released with no visible injuries.
No arrests have taken place, though the LAPD is seeking out the entertainer for further questioning.
This is not the first time the 28-year-old artist has been implicated in a physical dustup.
In 2005, the former model copped to an onset scuffle with Annapolis costar James Franco, telling Vibe magazine, "He was a difficult dude to work with. We had a fight on the set, and it got ugly, and I had to contain myself."
Meanwhile, Tyrese's first studio album in four years, Alter Ego, debuted at number 23 last month on a career-high 116,000 first-week copies. The title of the double-disc set alludes to Black-Ty, his rap alias.
This July, he'll appear in Michael Bay's live-action adaptation of the cult '80s cartoon Transformers. Tyrese also recently wrapped filming on the crime drama The Take, alongside John Leguizamo.
