Poison Guitarist Headed to Pen

Nothin' but a good time is going cost C.C. DeVille some jail time.

A Los Angeles judge sentenced the Poison guitarist to 80 days behind bars after he pleaded no contest Monday to driving under the influence and causing injury.

DeVille, whose real name is Bruce Johannesson, was also slapped with five years' probation, ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and had his drivers license revoked for one year.

The hair band survivor, now 43, got into trouble back on Aug. 24, when he backed out of his girlfriend's home and slammed into a parked car, causing airbags to deploy in his vehicle and injuring his companion. Police later determined that DeVille had been intoxicated.

DeVille did not immediately comment on the sentence; neither his label nor attorney returned calls seeking comment.

There was no word on when the axeman, whose guitar licks graced such Poison hits as "Nothin' But a Good Time," "Talk Dirty to Me," "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Your Mamma Don't Dance," will begin serving his jail term.

And it's not known whether the sentence will affect his stint on VH1's new edition of The Surreal Life. DeVille was named as a cast member of the reality series, which premieres in January.

It's been a rough week for the "I Want Action" artist.

On Sunday morning, DeVille discovered that someone had broken into his house and made off with several limited-edition guitars and amplifiers from his private collection.

Minneapolis' 93X-FM quoted the fretman as saying that some 30 pieces of equipment had been pilfered, including guitars featured in Poison videos over the last two decades.

"This has been a difficult year for me," DeVille told the station. "I have struggled with my alcohol addiction and sought and completed treatment. Then to return home only to find it had been maliciously violated. Unfortunately the finger points to someone I have graciously allowed in my house and life. This saddens and disappoints me greatly."

A list of the stolen items is going up on DeVille's personal Website, PlanetDeVille.com and a reward is being offered for information on their whereabouts or their safe return.
