Pete Doherty Late for Very Important Date

Perennial problem child Pete Doherty missed a Paris concert last night and, for a pleasant change, it wasn't his fault.
The Babyshambles frontman was waylaid by a late train.
The high-speed Eurostar, which typically transports travelers from London to Paris via the Chunnel in about two hours, was delayed due to what officials say was a non-Doherty-related "technical problem."
A Eurostar rep said Doherty's train was due in Paris at 9:20 p.m. Thursday but didn't pull in until 2:13 a.m. Friday.
Fans had filled the Grand Rex theater anticipating the concert to start between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. But when Doherty didn't show, the manager announced, "We're sorry, the concert is canceled."
While Doherty and mates decided when to reschedule the concert, Eurostar is vowing to make the trains run on time.
After all, it's got to be way embarassing when your, er, track record is worse than Doherty's.
