Perry Back in "Beverly Hills"?

Luke Perry coming back to Beverly Hills, 90210?

Maybe.

TV Guide quotes a high-level Fox suit as saying: "We've wanted him to come back ever since he left."

The now-32-year-old thespian, who bailed on the teen series three years ago for a film career, is reportedly eager to rejoin his old school chums. (Why so eager? Probably because that film career--8 Seconds? Normal Life?--he left for never materialized.)

Perry and Fox are said to be haggling over the details of his comeback--he's apparently holding out for a TV development deal. (Fox also plans to move former Melrose Place vixen Laura Leighton into town next season as a scheming, wannabe actor.)

Perry's return would counterbalance the departure of Jason Priestley, who's scheduled to leave at the beginning of the season.

In case you forgot, Perry's Dean-esque Dylan McKay ditched Beverly Hills in the middle of the '95-'96 season, after his new bride was mistakingly gunned down by assassins aiming for him.

Of course, if Dylan does make it back to his old ZIP code, he probably won't recognize the place.

Here's a primer to get him up to snuff. First off, nobody's in school anymore. Best buddy Brandon almost got hitched to Kelly, but they called it off just before swapping "I Dos." Believe it or not, Donna and David finally did it. Then they split up. Now she's dating new guy Noah. David's getting over a breakup with Valerie. Valerie might not be around too much longer--she's getting tested for HIV after one too many one-night stands. Andrea made a surprise appearance at the five-year high school reunion. Brenda? She's still MIA. So are Mr. and Mrs. Walsh, although they stopped by for the wedding-that-wasn't. Clare's history too. Oh yeah, Steve's still got girl troubles. At least some things never change.
