A Van Nuys Superior Court judge ruled today that there is sufficient evidence to order James Rainford to stand trial on two felony counts of stalking and three misdemeanor counts of disobeying a court order.
No doubt, this was not the kind of date he was hoping for.
Hilton's unwanted house guest ended up in yet another legal hole after he was arrested for loitering outside the socialite's Malibu house back on July 4.
That was the third strike against Rainford.
The home intruder had previously gotten busted in Oct. 2010 for trespassing on Hilton's Hollywood Hills property. Then in April of this year, he was nabbed for assaulting the reality star's then-boyfriend Cy Waits outside court as they turned up to testify against another accused stalker in a separate case.
For the latter incident, the 37-year-old pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to nearly eight months in jail, of which he served less than a month. He also was given three years' probation.
Hilton however had obtained a restraining order against him for the October incident that barred him from coming within 200 yards of her and her residence, which cops say he violated when he was caught on the beach acting suspicious over Independence Day.
Rainford, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, remains behind bars in lieu of $20,000 bail. No word yet on a trial date. His arraignment is set for Aug. 29.
