Paris Goes Rasta

Apparently, dominating the airwaves of one basic cable network (ahem) isn't enough for Paris Hilton. BET, watch your back.

The heiress-turned-actress-turned-singer has finally spilled some details on her forthcoming album, telling the June issue of Hong Kong's Prestige magazine that her musical debut will cull from the worlds of pop, hip-hop and, uh, reggae.

"The whole album has so much different music on it," the Associated Press quoted Hilton as saying. "I like all music. It's not like I only like pop or only rock. I want to have something for everybody."

While the album isn't due out until this fall, the Simple Life star is already prepping her first single. The tabloid-friendly heiress shot the music video for the reggae-inspired "Stars Are Blind" in Malibu last week, with the tune due out internationally in early June.

As with all things Paris-related, a media circus will likely surround the song's release, though promoting the would-be number one won't necessarily be a breeze for the aspiring pop star. Hilton reportedly told the magazine, in all seriousness, that she had to overcome a debilitating shyness before pursuing a music career.

"I have always had a voice and always known I could sing, but I was too shy to let it come out," Hilton said, per the AP. "I think that is the hardest thing you can do, to sing in front of people. When I finally let go and did it, I realized it is what I am most talented at and what I love to do the most."

Luckily for the Recording Academy, the one-woman empire did manage to quell her shyness long enough to record her as-yet unnamed debut album, for which, she told Prestige, she co-wrote seven of the tracks. No word, though, if "Stars Are Blind" is one of her co-masterpieces.

While it's also unknown how many tracks her album will have, she did tell the magazine that it would feature a cover of Rod Stewart's hit dance ditty "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?"

It's unlikely Hilton had any problems securing rights to the songÂ?unlike last year's battle royale with Haylie Duff over "Screwed" (point: Paris, for the record)Â?Stewart is the papa of Hilton's newest BFF, fellow socialite Kimberly Stewart.

Which means that, once again, America is in for a summer of Paris.

In addition to promoting her new gig as pop star, Hilton is gearing up for a new season of The Simple Life. She reteams with Nicole Richie for the reality show; viewers will see the girls practicing their skills as housewives.

The show premieres June 4 on E!.
