One Tree's Chad and Sophia Officially Over
One branch of the One Tree Hill family has officially been severed, making way for another to spring up in its place.
The divorce between CW costars Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush has been finalized, according to court documents obtained by People magazine. Both sides waived any spousal support.
The official decree leaves Murray free to wed his fiancée, Kenzie Dalton, an 18-year-old recent high school grad from North Carolina, whom he met when she was working as a One Tree extra last year.
When it comes to the ladies, there's no doubt Murray's a fast worker.
Just five months after marrying Bush in a lavish beachfront wedding in April 2005, the couple announced that they were separating.
Though never confirmed, the reason for the split was widely believed to be infidelity on Murray's part.
"This is a difficult and unfortunate situation," Bush said at the time. "I am glad this is being resolved sooner rather than later."
In February, Bush filed for an annulment, citing "fraud" as her reason for wanting to erase the marriage from the record books.
Just two months later came word that Murray was keeping time with another One Tree cutie—Dalton, whom he had reportedly been dating since December. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, the twosome was engaged.
Despite being officially single once again, Murray doesn't appear to be racing to the altar to enter marriage number two. The actor recently told E! News that he and Dalton have yet to set a date.
"That's the great thing. We don't worry about it," Murray said earlier this month. "She's going to finish school, finish college, and then we'll worry about it. We're just incredibly, intensely happy."
As for Bush, she too, has moved on and is reportedly dating her Stay Alive costar, Jon Foster.
Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Murray and Bush continue to maintain a professional relationship on the set of One Tree Hill, which is currently in its fourth season.
