One Tree Hill, Two and a Half Tree Morning

There are two things we don't understand about One Tree Hill. First, why didn't the lumberjacks finish their job and take down that final tree? And second, how did Brooke and her fiance Julian get to two and a half in this scene?

Two and a half? How does that work? Oh, we see, she must be related to those lazy lumberjacks who didn't finish off that titular hill. Pssh, they leave a tree standing on a hill, and now their women are leaving a tree standing in the bedroom. Slippery slope, people.
