Ol' Dirty Jailbird

The way things are going, Ol' Dirty Bastard should've opted for the drive-through.

After finally being nabbed by Philadelphia police while eating inside a local McDonald's, the Wu-Tang Clan emcee was arraigned Tuesday night in a Philly court and ordered to be held without bail until a scheduled extradition hearing on December 8.

ODB, whose real name is Russell Tyrone Jones, saw his one-month stint as a fugitive come to a quick end Monday, when a police officer on routine patrol recognized the wayward rapper in the Mickey D's and took him into custody on warrants from California and New York.

The 32-year-old hip-hopster, who has ballooned to a whopping 230 pounds while on the lam (too many Big Macs?), refused to waive extradition to California or New York, preferring to remain in jail until next week's hearing, when a judge will determine which state has dibs on the troubled gangsta.

"I'll see y'all in a couple of years," ODB yelled to his brother and a friend while being led yesterday from the First Police District station.

While New York authorities refused to grant a detainer for the rapper, Los Angeles did set a $1 million bail for him. Either way, Ol' Dirty Bastard will have to answer for criminal charges in both states.

Last month, ODB busted out of his court-ordered drug treatment program at Impact House in Pasadena, California, just prior to an October 17 court date at the Los Angeles Criminal Courthouse. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel immediately issued a bench warrant for his arrest. The rapper was already wanted on two New York warrants for possession of crack cocaine and operating a vehicle illegally.

While ODB's bad behavior forced him underground, it didn't exactly keep him there. He shocked thousands of fans when he turned up with his Wu-Tang Clan mates at a show last week in New York City, despite a heavy NYPD presence in the audience. He later slipped out undetected.

Calls to the rapper's New York-based attorney, Peter Frankel, were not immediately returned.
