OK! Turns on Larry Birkhead
Don't mess with OK! magazine. Its editors mean business. After Britney infamously bailed on its planned cover story, the scandalous details were splashed all over the place. Now, the magazine is setting its sights on former friend and Anna Nicole baby daddy Larry Birkhead.
The magazine was supposed to run pics of Dannielynn's first birthday bash but just pulled out due to "explosive allegations." (For all we know, this means they were outbid for the exclusive by People or Us Weekly.)
"Newly obtained allegations are detailed, shocking and potentially incriminating. Furthermore, it makes it impossible for OK!, in good conscience, to promote this family’s highly questionable relationship in our pages. Next week's issue of OK! will bring all of the unfortunate, relevant details to light."
Editor in chief Sarah Ivens, who, in case it wasn't clear, plans to reveal the allegations in next week's issue, says this:
"It breaks my heart that OK! has to pull out of a shoot that would have chronicled the next great chapter of Dannielynn's life. That sort of celebration is what the magazine enjoys most. But first and foremost, we—and I—care dearly about the well-being of the young one, and my moral obligation lies with her. So, it's unfortunate, but at the moment, my biggest fear is that Larry and Howard may have tricked us all."
Can you stand it? This bait-and-switch tactic (arrange interviews with media-lusting types and then blow the lid off the story when they inevitably screw up) is genius. We tip our hats to the scheming folks at our fellow exclamatory! news outlet.
