O.J. Squeezed by DirecTV

We're guessing O.J. Simpson's not going to be tapped as DirecTV's next celebrity endorser.

The Juice has put himself in a sticky situation with the satellite television provider, which has accused the former football great of pirating its signal.

DirecTV filed a federal suit last Wednesday in Miami, demanding that Simpson pay the company a $20,000 fine.

Back in 2001, Simpson's Miami home was searched during a government raid investigating Ecstasy and satellite theft allegations against Simpson and others.

Federal agents cleared out equipment from the Simpson residence that DirecTV claims were "bootloaders," devices used to unscramble the company's satellite signals.

No charges were filed against Simpson at the time.

Simpson's attorney, Yale Galenter, defended his client against DirecTV's allegations, saying that Simpson has been a long-time paying subscriber.

It seems Simpson just can't steer clear of legal turmoil. Even 10 years after the high profile trial in which he was tried and acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown and her friend, Ronald Goldman, the most minor mishap is enough to land the onetime Heisman winner undesirable publicity.

Last year, a tearful 911 call from his daughter, Sydney, complaining about her father's parenting skills, made national headlines.

Miami-Dade PD arrived on the scene, only to conclude that the dispute was an easily settled family matter. No charges were filed.

In November 2002, Simpson received a ticket after he raced his speedboat through a zone reserved for endangered manatees. After he skipped out on a hearing related to the matter, a warrant was issued for his arrest, but revoked after he showed up in the courtroom.
