Paul Drinkwater/NBCOctomom might be bankrupt, but she still has a house—at least for a little while longer.
The heavily hyped foreclosure auction of Nadya Suleman's La Habra, Calif., home was pushed back Thursday for a second time in two days, aggravating would-be bidders who turned up at City Hall in Orange for a chance to snag the four-bedroom, three-bath residence for a song.
So what happened?
No explanation was given by Meridian Foreclosure Services for the postponement, but a company representative had warned previously that today's proceedings might not take place. The auction has now been rescheduled for June 7.
News of the auction came at the same time the mother of 14 filed for bankruptcy on April 30 after falling $1 million in debt and 11 months behind on her $3,000 monthly payments to Amer Haddadin. The latter took over the note on the home, and Suleman agreed to pay him in return for the creditor maintaining the mortgage on the abode, which she's lived in since 2009.
The initial auction was originally delayed by Suleman's Chapter 7 filing. But now that a judge has dismissed her bankruptcy petition, citing her failure to file all the necessary documents, the decision clears the way for Octomom's creditors to demand payback for the money she owes them.
With that in mind, it's no wonder Suleman recently took a role in an adult film.
