No Wedding Bells for Clooney

Good news, ladies. George Clooney may not be exactly available, but nor is he engaged.

The actor has denied rumors that he is engaged to his girlfriend of about a year, Sarah Larson.

"These reports are not true," Clooney, 46, said in a statement released through his publicist.

Speculation that Clooney's relationship with Larson, 28, was heating up increased after she recently accompanied him to the Oscars, making her the first of his girlfriends ever to do so.

In a report published on its website Monday, Britain's Marie Claire cited a restaurant worker from the town of Laglio, Italy, where Clooney has a villa, who claimed the twosome had secretly gotten engaged.

"They haven't made any announcement yet, but there are people in this town who know more than me," the unnamed worker was quoted as saying. "They say the couple are already engaged."

For now, at least, Clooney is content simply dating Larson, a former Fear Factor winner.

The actor, who was married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, has said in the past that he never intends to take another trip down the aisle.

"I've been married," he told People in November 2006. "It's not something I'm looking out for. The truth is, I'm really happy."

Sticking to his bachelor guns, he also won bets with Michelle Pfeiffer and Nicole Kidman, who each wagered $10,000 that he would be a father by 40.

Clooney returned their checks, but offered to make it double or nothing that he wouldn't have children by 50.

Of course, all that was before he became involved with Larson.
