No Pam and Tommy Sequel
The "Dating Status" icon on Pamela Anderson's official Website says it all: "Single."
The former Baywatch star and ex-husband Tommy Lee are both denying a report that had them engaged and walking down the aisle a second time as soon as this week.
A publicist for heavy-metalist Lee issued a two-word statement to E!: "Not engaged." Anderson, meanwhile, did her talking--or posting, as it were--on PamelaAnderson.com.
"This is a huge misunderstanding," Anderson wrote on her online diary. "I am NOT getting married. Period. I am not engaged to Tommy Lee."
Tuesday's New York Post begged to differ. A "Page Six" item that day said Lee, 42, had "popped the question" to Anderson, 38, on July 15 in Las Vegas, and that a wedding was imminent. The report did not lack for detail, with a Post "spy" describing the engagement ring as having a "black diamond with two gray diamonds on the side."
But Anderson, who would seem to be the expert on whether or not she was betrothed, said, "Please."
"We are friendly. We're family, but [the engagement report] is NOT the truth," wrote Anderson, most recently the official (and now former) fiancée of Kid Rock. "[The] press have some nerve. We're not back together. We just love each other!"
Lee has been as a hard habit for Anderson to break as implants. In 1995, during the height of Baywatch fame, Anderson wed the Mötley Crüe drummer five days after their first meeting. The next year, she gave birth to her and Lee's first child, filed for divorce, un-filed for divorce, and renewed her vows.
The almost end came in 1998 when Lee was arrested for spousal assault, and Anderson (then known as Pamela Anderson Lee) returned to divorce court. The split was finalized later that year, but by 1999 the sex-tape costars were a couple again. By 2000, Anderson had dropped Lee in more ways than one, excising his surname from her monogram. When she was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2002, she blamed Lee for infecting her--a charge he denied.
Still, for all their history, including a protracted custody war, Anderson noted on her Website, "Tommy and I will always be best friends."
True to her post, the Anderson-Lee brood, which includes sons Brandon, 9, and Dylan, 7, recently vacationed in Hawaii. The paparazzi-stalked getaway reportedly stoked the romantic reunion talk. On her site, though, Anderson described the event as a "wonderful family trip" that offered "a great father/son experience." "We don't spend much time with Tommy," she wrote.
Lee has been occupied of late with the reformed Crue, and his upcoming NBC reality series, Tommy Lee Goes to College, debuting Aug. 16. Anderson, meanwhile, is preparing for the first full-fledged season of her full-figured Fox sitcom, Stacked.
