Hollywood starlets—especially those who have managed to emerge from this hacking saga with their modesty still intact—can breathe a little easier this morning.
That's because after more than a year of investigating, and just a few weeks after Scarlett Johansson became the latest celebrity victim to have some very intimate photos released to the world, the FBI has finally made an arrest in what they've dubbed Operation Hackerazzi.
So who's the pervy culprit behind the massive celeb phone-hacking scandal?
The FBI has not released any information aside from the fact that an arrest has been made. More details are expected to be released at an 11 a.m. press conference in Los Angeles.
The investigation into the phone-hacking ring that's plagued hot young Hollywood began in 2010, when suspicions first surfaced among starlets that their cell phones—which included their personal and inevitably X-rated photos, texts and emails—had been compromised.
In addition to Johansson, Vanessa Hudgens was also an early victim of the scandal as another set of nude photos leaked of the Disney star this spring. A list of celebs (and yes, they were all young female celebrities) targeted by the mysterious hacker or hackers was soon released, and among the names sweating it out were Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Selena Gomez, Ali Larter, Busy Philipps, Emma Caulfield, Renee Olstead and Addison Timlin.
