No Beck for You Until '05

He may have two turntables and a microphone, but he won't have a new record out until 2005.

Interscope Records has decided to push back the release date for Beck's upcoming CD until early next year.

The artist's eighth full-length was to have dropped Oct. 26.

Interscope spokeswoman Staci Brooks confirmed to E! Friday that Beck's record was indeed not ready for release this fall, and that tracks are still being selected for the disc.

Produced by the Dust Brothers, the disc had been one of the more anticipated releases in the coming months. White Stripes frontman Jack White reportedly appears one at least one track. Beck has been in the studio for more than a year working on the follow-up to 2002's Sea Change.

The Dust Brothers previously produced tracks for Beck's breakout 1996 album Odelay and 1999's Midnight Vultures.

A three-time Grammy winner and critical darling best known for his slacker anthem "Loser," Beck latest tune, "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime," appeared on the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack.

The eclectic artist's latest batch of oddball songs reportedly mark a return to Beck's funkier side after the critically acclaimed, yet decidedly mellow Sea Change.

Among the highlights of Beck's eighth full-length, according to MTV News, are tracks like "Guero" (a stripped-down funk track replete with Spanglish) and the likely first single, "E-Pro" (a straight-up hip-hop influenced cut).

Fans of the artful Angeleno are hopeful that after his bitter yet beautiful breakup record that was Sea Change, Beck will be in the mood for a quirky, celebratory party record akin to the earlier work that won him millions of fans worldwide.

Indeed the "Where's It's At" singer may have reason to celebrate: the singer recently got married to fellow Scientologist Marissa Ribisi, sister of actor Giovanni Ribisi.
