Nick Cannon Health Scare: Autoimmune Disease "Like a Lupus Type of Thing"
Nick Cannon has been admirably on the mend since his double health scare and hospitalization earlier this year, but just because he's learned to pull back doesn't mean his well-being isn't still on the forefront of his mind.
Mariah Carey's hubby has spoken out in the wake of his headline-grabbing troubles and revealed that his kidney, blood clots and heart woes are actually the result of a "lupus-type" autoimmune disorder.

Crooner-in-Chief! Watch President Obama Break Into Song After Schmoozing Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey
Politics aside, this is pretty awesome.
Gone are the days when stars breathlessly serenade the president of the United States. And here are the days that the president of the United States tentatively belts out a little Al Green to a roomful of stars, as Barack Obama did at a fundraiser at New York City's legendary Apollo Theater last night.
Anyone else suddenly thinking that "Let's Stay Together" wouldn't be such a bad campaign slogan for '12?

Nick Cannon is out of the woods.
After undergoing successful treatment for kidney failure, the America's Got Talent host was released from Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center over the weekend and is already plotting his return to the airwaves.
Well, he was strong enough to tweet his congrats to Jay-Z and Beyoncé yesterday...
Gwyneth, Rihanna, Diddy, Seacrest Tweet (and Tattoo?!) Baby Congrats to Beyoncé and Jay-Z!
Watch the crib.
That's what Beyoncé and Jay-Z fans the world over spent the weekend doing, as it wasn't long after daughter Blue Ivy Carter was born Saturday night that she not only had her own (fake, obviously) Twitter account but was already a worldwide trending topic.
And that's thanks in no small part to the countless superstar celebrity pals who wasted no time in sending out congratulations to the first-time parents. Naturally, first among them was B.'s A-list BFF Gwyneth Paltrow (who knows from eyebrow-raising baby monikers), who also gets the kudos for clarifying the initial name confusion over Baby Blue. Way to go, Auntie G.
In any case, Blue Ivy has racked up enough goodwill over the last two days to last a lifetime. Here's a taste:

It's a good thing it's been so sunny in Hollywood. If it looked like rain, we'd seriously have to think about building an ark.
To accommodate all the couples, of course!
Not one, not two, but at least seven twosomes have decided to pair off for good, from relative whippersnappers like Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel to 69-year-old Aretha Franklin and her longtime gentleman friend.
All that and so much more as we recap the first full week of 2012...
Nick Cannon Has Surgery, Mariah Carey Tweets "Good Prognosis"
Nick Cannon is on the mend—and should be on his way home soon!
The America's Got Talent host, hospitalized earlier this week with kidney failure, underwent an apparently not-too-invasive procedure today and was doing well enough afterword to update fans on his condition himself.
"Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. #OUCH," tweeted Cannon, who, as Mariah Carey's latest twitpic shows, is keeping his IV close but his gadgets closer.
