New Pirates of the Caribbean Trailer: Thar Be Killer Mermaids

You'd been warned that these new Disney mermaids are deadly. But unfortunately for Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, the splashy sirens are necessary if he's ever going to find that Fountain of Youth.

In Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Jack's venturing out with Angelica (Penélope Cruz) in search of the fabled source of Botox eternal life, and it doesn't look like it'll be an easy trip.

For one thing, they aren't the only ones looking for it.

Blackbeard (Ian McShane) is after it too, and he already has a mermaid. And that's impressive considering they're quite difficult to catch and prone to leaping onto your ship to murder your crew. Seriously, it's freaky to see how much air a water-bound creature can get.

Another tool Blackbeard has that stacks things in his favor? He's gone and outfitted the Black Pearl with flamethrowers. We had no idea there were so many aftermarket options for galleons. Is the sport package next?
