The drama never seems to end for Robert Wagner.

Courtney Wagner, the actor's daughter with the late Natalie Wood, was arrested at her Malibu home last month on suspicion of narcotics possession, E! News has confirmed.

So, why did the cops come a-knocking on April 22 in the first place?

Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies were responding to a call about a possible shooting at Wagner's Malibu-area home. Upon arrival, they discovered multiple handguns and baggies of what appeared to be narcotics, according to sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

He wouldn't elaborate on what was in those bags, but TMZ is reporting that they contained cocaine and heroin.

Wagner, 38, was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station for possession, and 24-year-old Matthew Cox, who was at her place when the authorities arrived, was booked for allegedly discharging a firearm in a negligent manner.

They've both since been released, Wagner the following morning on a $10,000 bond.

Her bust comes several months after the investigation into her mother's drowning death in 1981 was reopened by the L.A. Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. The captain of the boat Wood fell from off the coast of Catalina had offered new information that was "worthy of exploring," according to detectives at the time.

The investigation was still considered active as of January, but detectives said that Wood's death remained classified as accidental.
