Nancy Grace's Double Whammy
This just in...Headline News purveyor Nancy Grace is a mother, twice over.
The TV pundit and former prosecutor gave birth to twins Sunday, her first children with husband David Linch.
Grace, who turned 48 two weeks ago, welcomed son John David and daughter Lucy Elizabeth at 1:55 p.m. ET, a network spokesperson announced Monday.
John David, who weighed in at 5 pounds, 1 ounce, takes his name from his father and John the Revelator. Lucy Elizabeth, who tipped the scales at 2 pounds, 15 ounces, was named for Grace's mother, Elizabeth, and grandmother, Lucy.
Grace, who wasn't due until January, was induced after she developed pulmonary edema.
Due to the condition, which involves either swelling or fluid accumulation in the lungs, her doctor determined it would be safest to deliver the twins as soon as possible, according to the CNN spokesperson, who added that everyone is doing well.
"Lucy Elizabeth, John David, and their proud parents are now resting comfortably," the rep said.
Grace announced both her marriage and pregnancy in June, confirming that she and Linch married in a secret ceremony in April.
The nuptials culminated decades of friendship—the two first met as college students in the 1970s.
"I thought 'mother' and 'wife' was just not part of God's plan for me," she said at the time. "I just can't believe that, at my age, I would find such happiness."
