Mr. Kumar Goes (Back) to Washington

Kal Penn is once again going from White Castle to the White House.
The 33-year-old actor is returning to his post as an associate director in the Office of Public Engagement after leaving the gig back in April to shoot A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, the third installment in the popular comedy franchise.

Penn, who uses his real name, Kalpen Modi, for his job in D.C., first nabbed the position back in '09 after actively campaigning for Barack Obama during his run for president.
The news of his return to the Beltway, though, doesn't come as a complete surprise considering the star was spotted at various rallies and events in support of Democratic candidates in California, Nevada, Florida and Illinois prior to the recent midterm elections.
