Being stuck in the airport is one thing, but being stuck in this movie totally blows. Loosely based on a true story,
Tom Hanks plays a guy from a fictional Russian satellite country that collapses while he's in flight. Upon landing, the U.S. no longer recognizes his homeland, so he's forced to take up residence in the JFK Airport...for months. Everything is thrown at you here: Hanks falls in love with troubled flight attendant
Catherine Zeta-Jones, becomes a hero to the airport workers, challenges Homeland Security boss
Stanley Tucci, arranges an unbelievable marriage between two employees and much more.
..too much more. The overdone sappy moments weigh down what could've been a light-hearted and quirky film. Thus, this terminally bumpy mishmash of every bad contrivance ever made on film never takes flight. Don't get taken for this ride.
