You can't really blame SpongeBob SquarePants' Nickelodeon masters for attempting to soak up a piece of that big-time movie cash. After all, the porous little fella is a TV and pop-culture hit. But 90 minutes of the animated yellow dude is just too much. The story involves SpongeBob and pals searching for King Neptune's crown, but the whole thing sinks long before the bizarrely wondrous
David Hasselhoff live-action cameo hits the screen.
There are a few giggles for kids, but the surreal, manic pace of the cartoon will just wear you out. And after seeing some super character development in, say,
The Incredibles, SpongeBob is left looking all wet.
