Imagine a fast-paced Mexican
Pulp Fiction, and you've got a pretty good idea what this pungent, funny and unapologetically violent caper film is all about.
Y Tu Mamá También's Diego Luna is a computer hacker obsessed with Marta Belaustegui, a bombshell cellist who has no interest in him. So, when Lucas Crespi invites him to join his scheme to trade Swiss bank-account numbers for diamonds, he figures he'll be rich enough to buy Belaustegui's affection.
Naturally, nothing goes as planned, and once the law of unintended consequences takes hold, fasten your seat belts. As the gunfire escalates, not so innocent bystanders are roped into the action, and the stylish, MTV-style crosscutting ratchets up the suspense, as a catchy score combining new music with south-of-the-border pop tunes of the '50s and '60s complements the look. Enjoy the ride--you won't feel ripped off at all.
